Through the development of a Property Strategy, Asset Management Plan and effective capital planning you will shape a consistent and commercial approach to asset management that can be embedded into all business planning. You’ll offer expert advice to senior leadership and councillors on all property related matters - ensuring we anticipate and manage risk effectively and that our decision making process is robust and well informed. And you’ll have an important contribution to make to our corporate development and growth ambitions, identifying opportunities to utilise our property assets in different ways, to deliver a better revenue return, or to meet the needs of our community more effectively.
You’ll be the council’s professional lead in terms of our commercial property investment strategy, ensuring that it continues to underpin a financially resilient organisation that can achieve more on behalf of residents.
It is essential that you are a member of a relevant professional body such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. We expect that you will bring a proven track record from within the property sector with practical experience of managing a corporate and investment portfolio. Your technical skills should be enhanced by wider management and leadership abilities, developed at senior level, where you have led and performance managed staff, and advised at the top level. Able to meet the continual day-to-day demands of a property portfolio through effective planned and responsive maintenance, you’ll also be adept at balancing this with longer term strategic planning, to fully realise the value of assets.
